An estimated 2000 devotees made the annual Our Lady of Guadalupe pilgrimage from St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville on Sunday Dec. 11, 2011. I photographed them walking south on South Thompson Street in Springdale and a short time later as they crossed the dam at Lake Fayetteville on their way to a rest stop in Veterans Park in Fayetteville. Their entire walk was more than eight miles.
