The Southern Memorial Association held its 139th annual memorial day ceremony at the Confederate Cemetery in Fayetteville Saturday, June 2, 2012, on the heels of an effort to place markers on grave sites that were previously unknown or unmarked. The association also ceremoniously placed a plaque that marks the 140th anniversary of the founding of the association.
