Today I got to experience the highly anticipated Wamart Stores Inc. shareholders meeting at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. The arena was transformed and full of energy when I walked in around 6:30 a.m. and everyone was buzzing about who would emcee and perform.

Justin Timberlake did a great job as emcee for the event. When he came out, I didn’t even recognize him at first. Timberlake came out during a story told by Rob Walton about his father, Sam, dressing in a hula skirt, so Timberlake had to play the part! Timberlake played the role of host well, with jokes and his own stories of being a Walmart shareholder.

The performers were magnificent as well! Almost every act performed two songs and they kept the attendees rowdy in between the business that occurred between each act. Ladysmith Black Mambazo was probably my favorite act to see, although Celine Dion certainly showed me why she is one of the greatest vocalist performing today. I only wished Timberlake spoiled us with a throwback to some of his own music!
