I heard the call come over the citizens band scanner that I carry with me in my car while I was driving looking for a photo. I zipped over to the KUAF studio and was luckily quite close when the call came in because I was able to get photos of the victim being removed from the building. From what I could tell, he was not injured badly and it was clear from early on that it was accidental and self-inflicted.

While there, I realized that this would become a bigger story later, not because of the gravity of the incident itself, but because of the current debate about guns and the possession of guns on the UA campus. The KUAF studio is considered a campus building. The irony is that there was a debate today about this very issue.
