Springdale Spring Game 2013

The Bulldogs of Springdale hosted their annual spring scrimmage Friday, May 24, 2013, at Bulldog Stadium and it threw me off a bit. I mean, it’s May, and it’s hot, and it’s 5:30 p.m. and there is still light out for me to shoot football?! I tend to forget that football is almost a 24/7/365 sport down here in Arkansas. I won’t complain though – I love shooting in the day with lots of light!

Looks like Springdale will have some strong players on the field this year – two ,D-1 collegiate prospects already! It will be interesting to see who starts as quarterback this year, too. There were three athletes rotating the position during the scrimmage. Stay hydrated this summer during practices! See you in the fall!

I'm originally from Colorado and I was introduced to photojournalism in high school while working on the school's yearbook. In 2011, I graduated from Colorado State University with degrees in journalism and art. This is my first “real-world” job, but while in college I worked for CSU's daily student newspaper and I interned for Denver-based Westword, the Colorado Eagles (ACHL hockey team) and Johnson and Wales University. I cherish analog photography and I like to shoot on a medium-format Mamyia RB67 whenever I can. While I'm not at work, I enjoy doing all sorts of physical activities, especially mud runs and Crossfit, and I love to bake desserts (which are usually consumed by my coworkers).
