Congratulations to all the students graduating from Springdale High School Saturday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville High School held its commencement exercises Thursday, May 17, 2012, for the class of 2012 in Bud Walton Arena, graduating an estimated 571 seniors.

Covering graduations is always difficult because of how short the time is before the ceremony starts. The more interesting photos come as students prepare for the ceremony, but the light is terrible in the television tunnel at Bud Walton Arena and the time is short before they file out into the arena. One can only hope that something interesting happens as the kids are waiting to walk to their seats.

A big congrats to the class of 2012 from Rogers High School! Also, a shout-out to senior Julia Gardner. Julia sang an original piece of music – on acoustic guitar – and I found it to be very beautiful and with poignant lyrics for the occasion. Great job Julia!

Har-Ber High School’s seniors dressed up and had a dress rehearsal today in the school’s gym in preparation for their graduation ceremony. The class will have their formal graduation Saturday, May 19 in Bud Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas Campus.

Springdale Har-Ber High School held their commencement ceremony at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville Saturday May 23, 2009. The school graduated 396 students Saturday. The Springdale Har-Ber class of 2009 earned $3.2 million in scholarships and awards. Auto dealer Clay Maxey served as the keynote speaker at the ceremony.

Springdale High School held their commencement ceremony Saturday May 23, 2009 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Springdale High School graduated 426 students. The class garnered $2.1 million in scholarships and awards from colleges, community members, businesses, the military and other awards. Combined with Har-Ber High School, Springdale graduates received $5.3 million in scholarship offers, about $1 million more than last year. Seventeen Springdale High School graduates are candidates for the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which will be awarded later in the summer. The International Baccalaureate candidates have been offered $1 million in scholarships. Olympian April Steiner-Bennett was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony.

Bentonville High School held their graduation ceremony at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville Saturday May 23, 2009. Bentonville has the second largest graduating class in Northwest Arkansas with 648 students. The schools’ graduates garnered $8,546,984 in scholarships, $3.5 million more than last year. Of those, $151,800 were community scholarships. Ryan Adams, Rob Ferrell, Austin McCollum, Brandon Sleeth and Colton Steen were awarded full scholarships to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Each scholarship is valued at $403,000. Bentonville students also acheived on the athletic field, winning state championships in football, girls cross country, volleyball, wrestling, boys swim/dive, girls swim/dive, girls indoor track, girls soccer, and girls outdoor track.
