The Rodeo of the Ozarks had its slack competition Tuesday June 28, 2011 at Parsons Stadium in Springdale. The event featured several events including barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping and tie down roping. I don’t think very many people knew about the event since attendance was sparse even with free admission. It was a pleasure to view the event and see so many working so hard. I only wish I could have stayed longer to see more of the events.

The annual Rodeo of the Ozarks parade was held over the July 4 weekend at Parson Stadium in Springdale. This is possibly one of my favorite events to shoot all year, despite my intense fear of horses. This year, I really tried to focus on using the evening light streaming into the stadium. It provides for such a moody image, full of bold colors.

Hundreds of area residents turned out for the 2009 Rodeo of the Ozarks’ annual Fourth of July parade in downtown Springdale. Here is a gallery of images from the parade.
