Well, this took awhile to put together, but I was able to put up a camera behind the backboard at Wildcat Arena in Springdale. Unfortunately though, I could only stay for the first half of one game. It ended up being a good test run for where to place the camera and what kind of shots it can take. It was a little difficult to get good stills out of it, but it did provide an interesting perspective for video. I put together some clips from the first half of the game with the camera mounted on the Springdale Har-Ber basket.

Sunday, I walked part of the way with members of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Fayetteville and St. Raphael Church of Springdale for their annual Our Lady of Guadalupe pilgrimage. I have never heard of an event like this so I was pleasantly surprised to see Aztec dancers celebrating and thousands of worshipers praying. Events like this can be hard to describe in just one picture with no sound, so I took some recordings and made a video in an attempt to describe the event in more dimensions. Enjoy!

The thing I like most about photographing boys basketball is by far the intensity, hustle and aggression on the court (where it’s meant to be, not in the stands with the parents). Sometimes, as counter intuitive as it may seem, I think this tenacity on the court is amplified the younger the players are too. – this game was no exception.

I spent the most of this morning in a canoe with Boy Scouts from Troop 107 in Springdale as the troop used the boats to help clean Lake Springdale and the surrounding park. Ron Mynatt, a parent and a troop leader, said the scouts planned to camp at the lake and then continue the clean-up the next day on Spring Creek between Silent Grove Road and North Pump Station Road. The city allowed the troop to camp at the lake in exchange for the clean-up.
The Illinois River Watershed Partnership and Springdale Natural Trailblazers also assisted with the clean-up.
Enjoy!

The annual Rodeo of the Ozarks parade was held over the July 4 weekend at Parson Stadium in Springdale. This is possibly one of my favorite events to shoot all year, despite my intense fear of horses. This year, I really tried to focus on using the evening light streaming into the stadium. It provides for such a moody image, full of bold colors.
